Slender Meadow Katydid - Conocephalus fasciatus - Female
Miramichi, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada
September 3, 2004
Size: 20 mm incl. ovipositor
In abandoned gravel pit. ID of Conocephalus fasciatus based on combination of characters (ovipositor straight and less than length of hind femur, wings longer than abdomen) given in this key, and the north shore of New Brunswick is apparently beyond the range of C. brevipennis - which may have long-winged forms.
