Ant - Aphaenogaster

Ant - Aphaenogaster
Deep Fork Wildlife Refuge, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, USA
July 15, 2007
Size: aprox. 7mm

Not an ant expert by any means, but it looks like possibly Aphaenogaster to my untrained eye.

Thanks Ben, I will compare.

Myrmicine queen
I was going to say maybe Anergates but it's too far west and the ant is too big. So I'd say it's a dealate Myrmicine queen, but I'm not sure which species so you'll have to wait for an ant expert.

Thanks, Nick.
