Or maybe some other Tarache sp! The white patch on the back - near the rear of the folded wing - is what brought me to T. huachuca or augustipennis.

Sue, I have struggled with these "black-headed" species and am inadquate to make a species distinction. Have you ever been to this sight? Neartica On this page under T. huachaca they show the range of this species and it looks like you are in the right spot for a female T. huachaca. The similar species also looks like yours to me but has a larger range.

The way the rt. wing is folded over the left makes it difficult to read this specimen.
