Notonectidae - Notonecta

Notonectidae - Notonecta
NNW of Pagosa Springs, Hinsdale County, Colorado, USA
July 15, 2007
Size: ~7-8 mm
Swimming around in a mosquito infested horse trough. I photographed it and released it to continue its work. Size is an approximation. Maybe a nymph? The "book" says genus Notonecta is most common, with Buenoa found in the SW (like here.) But it looks a lot like this one on the flip side: which is identified as Notonecta.

Yes, nymph.
This is a nymph of a Notonecta species.
