This one is a female
I've just examined all of the
Cornus
-feeding
Antispila
specimens in my possession, and the only male I have for this species is your #3622.2--so I'm very glad you sent that one! I've found the alleged differences in wing pattern to be pretty well useless, and without dissecting, the surefire way to tell is to look for a dense tuft of scales on the underside of the male's forewing near the base. On
A. cornifoliella
it's dark brown, and on
A. freemani
it's bright yellow--there's no confusing them.
