These are very difficult and my experience is only with H. mima, but looking at this photo ID'd by Maury Heiman I think yours looks a lot like this one. My guess is that H. mima has more color as a general rule and is definitely more common. Also note the lighter hindwing.

I copied and lightened this photo which I thought was the most like your specimen among the H. fraterna pictures on BG and it did not have any of the yellow in the ST area.
