Looks kind of like a honey bee but definitely not one. They had a habit of curling their abdomens up towards the sky.

Female - Leaf-cutter Bee
The wings have 2 submarginal cells and the ventral side of the abdomen is very hairy. This is a female in the genus Megachile. The experts may be able to tell you the species.
