Identification
body long and slender; head, thorax, and abdomen all about same width, and elytra not tapered - giving an overall rod-shaped appearance to the body

2/3 of spp. in Eurasia; ~70, in Africa(3); in our area, e. NA west to the Rocky Mtns.(5)(6), except for the non-native O. erythrocephala established in the west(4)
