Chauliognathus? - Chauliognathus

Size: ~ 12.5 mm
On flowers. Believe this Soldier beetle is in the genus Chauliognathus maybe scutellaris? Also on the ventral image, second image, there is a bulge coming from the last segments of the abdomen that I don't know what it is can someone tell me what it is? Confirmation/correction, and further placement would be appreciated.
