I agree with Charles Genus fo
I agree with Charles Genus for sure. The ones I have seen have been and I will post another one I have that looks similar. I can't tell if your moth is a worn T. subcostalis, or more like mine which can also be seen in Arizona.

 
Size
I could be off on size, I'm going off my recollection. I do remember seeing big ones (3cm wingspan) but not being able to get good photos. I remember seeing one that was a lot smaller, but similar coloration that I also shot. But, maybe I did manage to get a good shot of a large one and confused the two upon returning. I'll review the original photo series and see what I can come up with.

I looked at the lens and focal distance and I'm thinking that ~25mm is a closer estimate.

Touche. Wish I could master the camera as you have. It would help a lot when I have not captured a specimen.

Looks like Mimorista subcostalis
But the wingspan should be twice that.
