Water-lily Beetle Pupa - Galerucella nymphaeae

Water-lily Beetle Pupa - Galerucella nymphaeae
Clarks Pond, Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
June 21, 2015
Size: about 6-7 mm
A significant population of Water-lilly Beetles, (Galerucella nymphaeae) - If my ID is correct - were observed at this site, so that this is the species' pupal state is a fair assumption. Since the Bug Guide species page didn't include a pupa, I though I would offer it for inclusion. Larval cannibalism of the eggs was also observed, so I thought I would a photo of that as well- with may explain why the proliferation of the Euro Water Chestnut is not affected.
