Its antennae were much longer than its body: Body = 34 mm; Antenna 58 mm.
Around 6:30 PM, several of these beetles were flying low with a loud buzzing sound and landing on mesquite trees on NM County Road A003 (NM State Rte-9) NM 88021. Coordinates: 31.789641, -107.196893

I'm hoping this species (and many others) will still be out next month when I'm in the area. On a trip to NM in 2013, I saw many of these as they launched themselves from the next mesquite over, only to fly out of sight never to return. I didn't catch a single specimen.
