Heavy Flier - Necrophila americana

Heavy Flier - Necrophila americana
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
July 17, 2007
Size: 1"
This guy wouldn't hold still for a second so....bad pics. It kept trying to get to a high place so it could take off. Once it finally succeeded it seemed to be a very good flier. It flew probably 30 or 40 yards. I tried to find it again but no luck.
Please help with ID.

Necrophilia americana
My literature about beetles include only what is ound in my home province of Québec.
But based on that, i would readily ID this one as Necrophilia americana.
just have to double check if some related species occur in your area, if not, then you have your ID as Necrophilia americana.
