Grasshopper - Prumnacris rainierensis - male - female

Grasshopper - Prumnacris rainierensis - Male Female
Mount Rainier, Pierce County, Washington, USA
August 25, 2016
A mating pair.
Several other individuals were sunning on the same rock.

Going by the info on the bugguide page, I suppose this is the Cascade Timberline Grasshopper Prumnacris rainierensis.
They were abundant on the trail and sunning on rocks and wood near the trail for much of the Skyline Trail and the Golden Gate Trail uphill from the Paradise Visitor's Center.

Not all of my images show the reduced wing, but most do.
