preying mantis female - unknown sp. - Mantis religiosa - male

preying mantis female - unknown sp. - Mantis religiosa - Male
Gatineau, Ontario, Canada
August 29, 2016
After sunset, temperature ~20c, in an industrial park in Gatineau, Quebec, saw it standing on the pavement, picked it up and quickly placed it on a window sill at which point it started displaying as shown. Not collected. Have video. (Can it be uploaded? It's high resolution!)

Assume a preying mantis but do not see indicators of which species. 8 abdominal segments seen in photo indicate female?

Male
Eight ventral abdominal segments = male, six = female. Males of this species also have long, thick, chorded antennae. These are evident in your images.

As for the species, the under-arm "bullseyes", clear hindwings and "racing stripes" along the edge of the forewings indicate Mantis religiosa, as Alan identified it.
