Predatory Thrips - Aeolothrips

Predatory Thrips - Aeolothrips
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
July 15, 2007
Size: 1.5 mm
These thrips are common on a specific type of plant (which once again I cannot identify) growing in my backyard. They are probably there to feed on aphids or leafhopper eggs.

Finally! Decent images.
Nice work, Stephen.

Thanks Ron.
They're quite easy to miss! That accounts for the lack of images, even for the striking Aeolothrips.
Good to hear from you. I haven't seen you post for a while.

In a fallow period
but I've been watching you, unseen! LOL. Will have a few things to post soon, but house guests, bad knees and general laziness have kept me from shooting much.
