Spilomyia sp ? - Spilomyia foxleei

Spilomyia sp ? - Spilomyia foxleei
Golden Coyote Wetlands, Josephine County, Oregon, USA
August 23, 2016
This large flower fly comes from a very different location from the one I just submitted. This one is was visiting Queen Anne's lace is a very dry location with a few ponds nearby , and at a much lower elevation. The buzz when it flies is quite distinctive.

Thank you Martin. I was hoping someone could help me with this impressive fly. I found its loud, high rpm buzz fascinating.
