I occasionally see small groups of these moths, including this specimen, in the day time, always flying around and about Prostrate Ceanothus, Ceanothus prostratus. Whether this is the host plant I do not know for sure. These day time moths are hard to catch, as they drop and often escape into the flat-matted follage of the shrub. Also, I occasionally see these moths at nighttime by the porch light.
