Longhorn beetle - Broad-necked root borer - Prionus laticollis - male

Longhorn beetle - Broad-necked root borer - Prionus laticollis - Male
Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 9, 2007
Was found at light at night. Flew away. By surfing the guide, my best guess is Prionus, but it does not seem to have the spikey sides on its thorax.

Male Prionus laticollis.
The broadnecked root borer, male:-) Nice image showing the rougher texture and darker color that helps distinguish this species from others.
