Dung Beetle - Boreocanthon

Dung Beetle - Boreocanthon
Winnebago Bend Wildlife Area, Sloan, Woodbury County, Iowa, USA
September 7, 2015
Size: ~2 cm
Lone individual found crossing open sand in primitive road through bottomland sand prairie along Missouri River. It flopped over and played dead with outstretched legs when I touched it.
