Large Placid Ant - Camponotus castaneus

Large Placid Ant - Camponotus castaneus
Harris County, Texas, USA
August 27, 2016
Size: ~10 to 12mm
This ant and another one like it a couple of inches away seemed to be doing nothing on a hot summer day. They moved about slowly and calmly even after I move the plant a little bit.
