Moved
Moved from Jumping Spiders.

Looks more like a juvenile princeps to me, but i believe current known range doesn't support that.

Why do you think it's a male?

Id
I just thought from the front it looked like a male but I'm 2nd guessing myself now. I found a pic and I think it's close, Eris are at least one of its morphs?

It
is definitely a Phid, just unsure of species at this point. May be narrowed down eventually.

Pedipalps don't indicate male at this stage, but reddish tint on dorsal scales might be an indication of male.

Maybe?
Though still out of range...phidippus johnsoni?

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Hi Ken, do you know which jumping spider this is? Is it purpuratus?

No...
...but the Salticid experts will take the ID further. Stand by. :)

I'd is unclear
Has the expert seen it and been able to id?

It's been identified as Phidippus...
...and moved to the genus page. Evidently, that's as far as the experts have been able to take it (I gather it's a juvenile, which would make the ID trickier).

Don't give up hope. It's always possible that someone will eventually be able to take it to species.

Habronattus?
Maybe?

No
It is a Phidippus.
