Cylindromyia red and black with white - Cylindromyia
Near Hygiene, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
August 16, 2016
A handsome Cylindromyia on Sea Lavender (Limonium latifolium), a garden flower, photographed by Pam Piombino in her Hygiene backyard on the CO plains. It is differently marked with white from the red and black Cylindromyia, #1235660, which we submitted earlier in the year. Some others in Bugguide have similar markings, such as 56459 and 546299. Would you suspect two separate species? Any help is much appreciated.

I am delighted that you are able to get this very handsome fly into a subfamily. Thanks so much for your help. It is much appreciated.
