The closest ID I can find is
The closest ID I can find is the Gold Banded Skipper. When this guy flies, it furiously flaps its wings and doesnt seem to get much speed for the effort. I have had these in my yard for years, never seeing more than one or two at a time. I do have a type of Locust tree growing, tentitive ID is Black Locust.

The photos are of the same individual.

Thanks for any help!
