Size: One and half inches
this moth flew across my body and dove into high grass. It then stayed really still so I was able to get some shots.

Looks like Nomophila nearctica, the lucerne moth
This is a very well patterned individual. Traditionally we see this moth with the wings held tightly together, but after flight they sometimes pose with them spread apart like this.
