Identification
Pohl, et al. (2016) list 35 species, all included here.(1) An additional species, A. purata in the Hodges checklist (#3612.1) was deemed not to occur in North America and excluded. This guide should be used only as a first step in identification; some species can't be confidently separated from photos. The first several species listed here are especially difficult to separate and require additional taxonomic work to refine species limits.
