Male - Velvet Ant
This might be a male in the genus Timulla, but I'm not sure of the species. An expert might be able to say. I suggest that you re-crop the image, closer to the bug. WELCOME TO BUGGUIDE!!!!!!

Thanks! I did some searching and found it looks very similar to Timulla suspensa.

We don't have any other images of a male in that species. So, I'm not sure why you picked it. If you found another reference, please let us know about it.
Other species in the genus are very similar and should also be available in your location. It's best to wait for an expert opinion on these. Hey, the new crop is much better.
