This one is problematic....th
This one is problematic....the specimen needs examination because it is a new record very, very far away from the lampyrid that most closely resembles it, namely Nelsonphotus aridus, which is also on BugGuide....it is known only from the southern CA desert and Mexico. It is certainly not Paraphausis. I've studied the two side by side (Cicero 2006, Two new genera and one new species of firefly....with notes on their biology. Pan Pac 82(2):200-207) and you can see their photos side by side in my paper....I realize this was 6 years ago, but can the contributer Joyce Gross look for more specimens and avail them?
