Explanation of Names
Aetole Chambers, 1875
most diverse heliodinid genus, with 17 Western Hemisphere species, including eight in the southwestern United States (1)
Adults - all Aetole hold their hindlegs aloft while perched (1)
When Portulaca oleracea was introduced from the Old World A. bella adopted this plant and it has since expanded its territory.
