Ponerine Ant? - Stigmatomma oregonense

Ponerine Ant? - Stigmatomma oregonense
Husum, Klickitat County, Washington, USA
August 20, 2016
Size: 5 mm
This ant was found in the detritus formed at the base of a large conk growing on a stump. The conk contains an entrance/exit for a larger (8-12mm), black species of ant. The stump is located in a forest west of a prairie/wetland. Although not clear in my photo, the petiolus of this ant seems to be fused with the gaster.
