Fly with red underside of abdomen - Peleteria
EspaƱola, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, USA

Size: 8-9 mm?
Lots of insects visiting the Solidago cv. today. It was raining while the sun was shining. That seems to be a raindrop on the tip of its abdomen.
