Bees that live in underground tunnels - Andrena accepta Baton Rouge, Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA October 10, 2016
Bees the size of "honey" bees and resemble them.
Live in (or use for some purpose) tunnels in the ground.
Some tunnels were freshly excavated and resembled ant hills with a donut of sand granules surrounding the hole.
Some of the bees had a lot of bright yellow coloring that was probably pollen (?).
Bright yellow markings on the face resembled eyes peering out of the holes.
Watched as many as 4 bees poured of the same hole, one right after the other.
Found as many as 20 holes and there were probably more.
