Bob may be right but I have seen both the [I]S. Virginica
and S. congrua in Schulenburg. You need a photograph of both a fore tibia for the color and a body shot to identify these to species. The wings are highly variable. To do that you can catch them in a glass bottle and photograph them from the ventral side.

tiger moth?
I think its a tiger moth; they're common in the USA and have the slight marking on the wings and legs that the moth pictured does!

Virginian Tiger Moth
Yes, this might be Spilosoma virginica. However, I'm not sure of the gender. (widespread range)
