Long Ant-like Black Insect - Western Oregon - Ocypus olens

Size: 2in / 5cm
This specimen was found crawling in a mulched area on the University of Oregon campus during a downpour of rain, in the dark (around 6 am). As such the picture is a bit blurry but any information would be helpful. Cheers.
