Haven't checked with dvoribird
...but this looks like it was one of the abundant broomweeds (Amphiachyris or a related genus; Asteraceae).

Thank you! I have no idea - don't know plants at all, but the picture seems to match. It was at SE Metro Pk, south of Hornsby Bend, near ABIA.

Bright white side stripe from the anal prolegs
right out onto the face and black lines bordered by white on the face might point to Condica videns

Will you be adding dorsal and lateral images
Will be very challenging from just a ventral shot.
