Sea Louse

Sea Louse
Kodiak, Kodiak County, Alaska, USA
July 30, 2016
Lepeophtheirus salmonis or Caligus elongates? Found on a Silver Salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) that hadn't been in the river long and still looked pretty bright (meaning it did not look transformed or changed color yet).

Moved from ID Request. Looks good for a new order for the guide! I'm going to look for some info before I make the pages and move it. I've never seen a parasitic copepod!

Wow!
Wow! Glad to contribute something new. I updated the description to note the species of salmon it was on. I see these all the time on the fish we catch so if I notice anything interesting looking I will be sure to submit
