Megalorchestia corniculata

Megalorchestia corniculata
Guadalupe Beach, Santa Barbara County, California, USA
October 10, 2016
Size: ~8mm
Found below high tide line under wet wrack in sandy coastal beach habitat

Moved
Moved from Megalorchestia.

How identified?
I'm not familiar with West Coast amphipods but I'll make a species page.

ID
It's immature so I'm going off the "T-shaped" opposed to "butterfly shaped" dorsal pigment and the two versus three diffuse spots on the sides. With the pigmentation on the side occurring on coxa 6 & 7.

Thanks
What source did you use for the ID? I don't have any for the region so it would be helpful for identifying future submissions to BG.

ID
I'm working off an abbreviated key for Santa Barbara County, the original source data is available on http://ir.library.oregonstate.edu/xmlui/bitstream/handle/1957/4776/Chapman+Chapter.pdf;jsessionid=2CA15D9C35A4EE57ACC29B665312B878?sequence=1
