Euphoria biguttata (Gory and Percheron) - new Arizona record - Euphoria biguttata - female

Euphoria biguttata (Gory and Percheron) - new Arizona record - Euphoria biguttata - Female
Geronimo Trail, 7.0 miles (11.3 km) E of Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
October 16, 2016
Size: 13 mm
In Orozco's (2012) revision of Euphoria, only 1 U.S. specimen was known, from Hidalgo County, Texas (image is on BugGuide). So this is the first known specimen from Arizona, and is about 70 miles north of the nearest collection record in Sonora, Mexico. Elytral markings are deep orange-red in life, apparently fade to yellowish-white over time (this specimen was pinned shortly after capture). Collected and photographed by Steve Lingafelter.
