. As Ann explained, a move out of ID Request is not an endorsement of a suggested ID unless suggested in the comment or if the image is moved to the suggested taxon. In this case I moved it merely to Lepidoptera, as I do with all moth images in ID Request after a while. Once an image gets deep into ID Request it generally doesn't get much attention so it's best to move it into the guide. The same holds true for an image several pages back on the Lepidoptera page, which is why I've moved your image to subfamily Ennominae. On a related note, I didn't respond to your comment since I didn't subscribe to your image, which means I didn't get an email update when you commented as I would had I subscribed. I move many images and don't want to be swamped by emails every time an image I move out of ID Request is moved further into the guide. I do subscribe to many of the images I move, such as those for which I suggest an ID, but don't do so for images I move in bulk. (I do often encounter the images again when moving them past order, as I did with this one.) I'm subscribed now, though. Your ID looks good to me as well, but I'm not much good at identifying the grey geometrids.

ID request
Hey, Aaron. Thanks for the update. When I ask for an ID and that request is moved from ID request, like you just did, does that mean my tentative ID is confirmed? Thanks.

Hi Mike,
Since Aaron has not had time to answer, I will. The answer is no. Our process is to remove photographs from ID request after a rather short period of time. If we cannot identify it to species or Genus with confidence, it is moved to Butterflies and Moths and from there to Family hoping someone can identify it with confidence from there. It looks to me like you are right but without confirmation from someone with experience with this moth, I could only move it as far as Geometrid right now. Hopefully someone will come along and confirm it for you. I referenced
