Size: 5/8-inch
I followed the tracks across the sand on the dunes near Stovepipe Wells, Death Valley. These were fairly common there, up a few inches on the coarse grass in the early morning. Looking for dew perhaps?

Almost certain this is a species of Ophryastes, characteristic of desert habitats. Nice shot!
