Definitely not
Saropogon. And the gist of this thing suggests Nicocles. Only one species in TX and that is N. reinhardi. I have no descriptions of that species.

 
I am sorry for the confusion, but
somehow the first photo had the right location and the rest indicate that I collected this fly in Texas. This fly was captured approximately 3 miles south of Columbus, New Mexico not in Texas.

 
Definitely
something I don't know then. And if it is Nicocles, there are no species known for NM. Probably a related genus from the west. I sent the link to Dr. Fisher.
