Looking through
the new fascicle (1) this still looks to be N. torva. Small fins - but big hump on A8

One of the Notodonta
challenging because it looks like it is just about to molt. But to us it looks more like Notodonta simplaria in Caterpillars of Eastern NA, pg 290, than N. scitipennis. The posterior looks black and white with no sign of the orange mentioned by Wagner. Our info page says that simplaria is now called N. torva. We are a little confused because Jim posted one he had raised with orange on the sides and called it torva. So we are not certain. We'll leave a note for Jim and see what he says.
