Explanation of Names
Athyrma ganglio, originally described from South America, was previously listed as Athyrma ganglio of authors, not Hübner, [1831], in Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010)(1). Jim Troubridge (pers. comm., 11/3/2018) advises that, based at least in part on DNA evidence, he and Don Lafontaine no longer treat the population found north of Mexicoa (Florida) an undescribed species but instead represents an extension of the known range for true ganglio and will be formally revised in a soon to be published work.
