Tiger Moth caterpillar - Halysidota harrisii

Tiger Moth caterpillar - Halysidota harrisii
Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 25, 2007
Size: 2.5 cm in length
Is this Halysidota harrisii? I am rearing to get the adult and will post pupa and adult photos if all goes well. Found this on a tree with leaves that looked like maple and the tree had a bark that flaked easily away

I found one of these too!
I thought it was a yellow hairy caterpillar but it didn't have the dark markings on it's back...but I have done a little more research and I believe this to be a Sycamore Tussock Caterpillar
it was on my car underneath a Sycamore Tree (the bark flakes easily and looks camouflaged)...what do you feed yours?

Sycamore
Yes, I also fed mine Sycamore leaves... the adult emerged but my cats ate it :( So, unfortunately I have no photo for the adult. I am going to try again this year
