Mottled Prominent, Macrurocampa marthesia - Macrurocampa marthesia - Male

On screen enclosing large picnic pavilion (this photograph taken in motel on window sill). Thanks to Tony Thomas for correctly identifying this moth. I think two photos at MPG which suggested another species to me have been misattributed, so this clears up an error there as well. This photo seems to match one of Lynn Scott's (Mottled Prominent).

Hi Bob
Hoping that someone would offer an opinion, appears not. How can I make an id without making an id? How about: "If this specimen was photographed in NB I would call it Macrurocampa marthesia Mottled Prominent". But as it was photographed in Florida, I don't know what it is. Sort of allows me a way out if I'm wrong, not that it matters; I've been wrong many times before!

But Not This Time, Tony
Thanks for nailing this one down. I'll have to figure out later how to move this to the Guide. The wireless mouse for this laptop has stopped working, and trying to do any work without it is almost painful.
