Euonymous Scale - Unaspis euonymi - female

Euonymous Scale - Unaspis euonymi - Female
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
July 21, 2007
Size: 2 mm
One for Ontario. The Euonymus fortunei in my front yard are covered in these scales, but it wasn't until my dad trimmed the plants that the pests were revealed to me. Those shrubs had always looked so quiet except for the occasional pollinating bee, Chal*ybion or dermestid.
