Red-banded Hairstreak - Calycopis isobeon

Red-banded Hairstreak - Calycopis isobeon
Leander, Williamson County, Texas, USA
October 20, 2016
I initially thought this was going to be Dusky-blue Groundstreak (Calycopis isobeon), but due to the virtual lack of red around the black spots on the hindwing I think it's probably Red-banded Hairstreak (C. cecrops). Can anyone comment on hybridization between these two species and what the flight window is for Red-banded Hairstreak in Texas?

I agree that this specimen has characteristics of both species.
The forewing narrow PM band is typical of Dusky-blue whereas the lack of color at the hindwing outer angle looks like Red -banded.Glassberg mentions a dusky blue intermediate which is apparently typical phenotype in south central TX. South Texas Dusky-blues have considerable red at the hindwind outer angle.

Interesting...
Thanks for that sharing that, Cliff. I think there should be a bit of an overhaul of the Red-banded Hairstreaks because I think there are other records from the same area that likely pertain to Dusky-blue but have been accepted as Red-banded. If it is well away from the range of Red-banded and is just a phenotype of Dusky-blue that tends towards Red-banded, it would be great to have some literature documenting this for reference.
