Unk moth - Epicephala

Unk moth - Epicephala
Trinity River Refuge HQ building., Liberty County, Texas, USA
October 3, 2016

Moved tentatively pending word from Don Davis
Please collect these if you see any more. Moved from Leaf Blotch Miner Moths.

Update from Don Davis
"The specimens certainly appear similar. I hope that someone can collect this species and hopefully rear it. I would like very much to dissect a male for comparison."

I think I'm safe leaving these images here for now.

Looks like Epicephala, which is has not been recorded in N.A.
to my knowledge. Could be something interesting. I'll ask Charley about it. In the meantime, compare your images to this image of Epicephala vitisidaea for the sake of example.

I'm wondering if the moth linked by Kyhl is something other than Micrurapteryx salicifoliella. See my comment on that image.

Kyhl
I agree and thanks. I'll add him in database.
