Ochodaeid? - Neochodaeus praesidii
3.5 miles S. Willcox, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
September 9, 2016
Size: ~ 5.5 mm
Came to U/V lights, believe this is an Ochodaeid - Sand-loving Scarab Beetle? Would be a first for me. Confirmation/correction, and further placement would be appreciated.

Dorsal not ventral
What is necessary is a dorsal view of the propygidium showing one of two things.

1. As shown in the above link to a pic I posted - dorsal view of propygidum with distal margin modified into transverse midline (not turbicles) ridge that interlocks with distal elytral margin. Sutural angle of elytra not dentiform (small tooth pointing apically).
OR
2. Sutural angle of elytra dentiform. Dorsal view of propygidium with pair of turbicles at midline that interlock with dentiform elytral apices. I haven't posted this picture yet - waiting on information about the location. Email me (glenwfo) and I'll send it to you.

Hope this helps.
