Thanks, John, I'd been struggling with this fly for a while as the wing veination didn't match the "obvious" match of Hammerschmidtia.

B. notata: abdomen ferruginous to yellow, median longitudinal stripe on abdomen present, color contrast strong between abdomen and thorax; the contrast plus location rule out the otherwise similar B. gigas. B. punctipennis (the only species absent from the Curran 1922 key as Curran described it in 1925) differs in several details.
